WORKSHOP ON “CURRICULUM DESIGN”

On December 25, 2023, at the Thai Nguyen University of Sciences, a workshop on " CURRICULUM DESIGN" took place, this is one of a series of activities within the framework of the International Cooperation Project on improving Higher education capacity: “Future–Oriented Chemistry- (FOREST)” period 2021-2024, by Associate Professor, Dr. Vuong Truong Xuan - Department of Chemistry, Thai Nguyen University of Sciences, is the project leader.

Through the presentations, the audience understood the European Credit Transfer and Accumulation System - ECTS. This is a system that evaluates student learning based on the workload of each learning activity that students are required to complete to complete the course objectives. These goals are specified based on the learning outcomes to be achieved as well as the knowledge and skills that students have acquired after the course. The presentations also provide calculations of ECTS for different teaching and learning modes and how to distribute of ECTS credits.

Besides, the authors also guide lecturers on how to write learning outcomes and put them into practice for each education program with Bloom's Taxonomy Model. There are six levels of cognitive learning according to the revised version of Bloom's Taxonomy. Each level is conceptually different. The six levels are remember, understand, apply, analyze, evaluate, and create. Depending on each outcome learning designers can choose appropriate training program building. Based on outcome learning, studier will learn how to create learning pathways (pedagogy/didactics) and how to implement them.

Associate Prof. Dr. Vuong Truong Xuan also presented the application of this method in building a chemistry master's training program, the program has been applied and implemented enrollment in the 2023-2024 school year.
