The German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) and 02 Universities of the Federal Republic of Germany visited and worked at Thai Nguyen University of Sciences

In the morning of December 5, 2019, the Mission of the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD), the Brandenburg Cottbus-Senftenberg University of Technology and the Mainz University of Applied Sciences led by Fangfang Xu, Ph.D. - Coordinator of the German Academic Exchange Service in the Asia-Pacific region as the Head of the delegation visited and worked at the University of Sciences - Thai Nguyen University. Accompanying the delegation, there were Prof. Stefanie SAUER - Brandenburg University of Technology Cottbus–Senftenberg and Prof. Ulrich Papenkort - Dean, Department of Social Sciences and Social Work, Mainz University of Applied Sciences.

Attending the meeting, on the side of Thai Nguyen University of Sciences, there were: Assoc. Prof. Pham Thi Phuong Thai, Ph.D. - Vice Rector, representatives of departments, faculties / departments, and lecturers participated in studying and researching in cooperation with the Federal Republic of Germany.

At the meeting, on behalf of the Rector of Thai Nguyen University of Sciences, Assoc. Prof. Pham Thi Phuong Thai, Ph.D. expressed her pleasure to welcome Prof. Fangfang Xu, Prof. Stefanie SAUER and Prof. Ulrich Papenkort visited and worked with the University. Assoc. Prof. Pham Thi Phuong Thai, Ph.D. gave an overview of the history of formation, development and outstanding achievements in training, scientific research and international cooperation of Thai Nguyen University of Sciences. Especially, Assoc. Prof. Pham Thi Phuong Thai, Ph.D. also highly appreciated the University's lecturers who have participated in studying and researching in Germany through government and DAAD scholarship programs, playing an important role in building developing human resources of the University. Also on this occasion, Assoc. Prof. Pham Thi Phuong Thai, Ph.D. desired to expand cooperation in student exchange, training and research in the fields of Social Work, Law, Management Science and other humanities.

On behalf of the mission, Fangfang Xu, Ph.D. expressed his thanks for the warm welcome, valuable sentiments of the University and hoped that the visit of the delegation would be an opportunity to connect and expand cooperation between Thai Nguyen University of Sciences and Universities of Germany.

After a very detailed introduction on Law, Social Work, Management Science and research cooperation proposals, Prof. Stefanie SAUER and Prof. Ulrich Papenkort also introduced Brandenburg University of Technology Cottbus–Senftenberg and Mainz University of Applied Sciences. Two professors are particularly interested in the fields of Social Work and Social Management. The two sides enthusiastically discussed and exchanged about topics of common interests. The two sides agreed on proposals for research cooperation, academic exchange, exchange of lecturers, students, and summer university program focusing on such areas as: family counseling, child counseling, adoption issues, the role and position of women in rural areas, etc.

At the end of the meeting, the two universities agreed to continue to exchange and discuss about specific issues in order to develop more cooperation directions.
