From September, 2019 to December, 2019, Thai Nguyen University of Science received 02 interns from WROCLAW University of Science and Technology (Poland) and Belgrad University (Serbia) to intern at the Medical – Biology Laboratory through international student exchange program IAESTE. After a period of focused research, under the enthusiastic guidance of Nguyen Phu Hung, Ph.D. – Head of Biotechnology Department and MA. Ngo Thu Ha - Technical support staff, the students have accumulated a lot of knowledge, experience and valuable experiences at the University.
Medical – Biology Laboratory of Thai Nguyen University of Sciences is currently one of important laboratories that we focus on investing in the academic year 2018-2019 with a total value of over 35 billion VND. With modern and advanced facilities, highly specialized staff, Thai Nguyen University of Science has become a reliable choice for many international interns.
Choosing Thai Nguyen University of Science, the international students have spent a lot of their time to perform on their research: Sylwia Barbara Groborz students conducted research "Evaluating the impact of the extract of the leaves of forest papaya on gastric cancer cells"; Masa Duvnjak Students conducted research “Triterpenoid Saponin compound and their impact on cancer cells”. Here, the 02 students have been practiced to culture on human gastric cancer cells, use the compound to evaluate the impact, influence on cancer cells, and conducted many in-depth researches to find out the mechanism of medicine on cancer cells. At the end of the internship period, Biotechnology Department held a summary, reporting sessions on the research results for Sylwia interns (November 8, 2019) and Masa interns (December 9, 2019). The summary went on successfully with many research results obtained, and many evidences proving the obvious influence of the research subjects on cancer cells.
Here also, 02 student have shares with the lectures and the students of Biotechnology Department about the interesting research experiences and cultural experiences at University of Sciences, Thai Nguyen in particular, and Vietnam in general such as: the laboratories with many modern equipment, pleasant people, various food, nice landscapes…In the farewell, 02 interns sent their gratefulness to Nguyen Phu Hung, Ph.D., University of Sciences has created the best conditions for them during their internship and affirmed that the results obtained during the short-term internship at the University of Science contributed heavily for their next research orientations in the future.
At 02 reporting sessions, Nguyen Phu Hung, Ph.D. highly appreciated the effort on learning and research of the two interns as well as the research results that they have obtained. Nguyen Phu Hung, Ph.D. believed that the interns would be continue to pursue research and have international publication as soon as possible.
