On the afternoon of December 19, 2019, University of Sciences honorably received Ass. Prof. Nguyen Phuong Ngoc, Ph.D. – Director of the Institute of Asian Studies (IrASIA), Aix-Marseille University, France to visit and share with the University's staffs and lecturers the experience of international publication and interdisciplinary studies in the fields of social sciences and humanities.
Ass. Prof. Nguyen Phuong Ngoc, Ph.D. is currently the Director of the Institute of Asian Studies (IrASIA) under Aix-Marseille University, one of the public research universities in southern France with a worldwide partner network. Ass. Prof. Nguyen Phuong Ngoc Ph.D. has many years of research experience in the fields of literature, sociology and anthropology. Together with her colleagues at the IrASIA, she has conducted many studies on: Asian Literature and Translation, Migration and Urbanism, Heritage, Religion and transfer of educational research knowledge in different environments, etc.
In the first working session, on behalf of the Rector of the University of Sciences, Ass. Prof Pham Thi Phuong Thai, Ph.D. expressed her pleasure when receiving Ass. Prof. Nguyen Phuong Ngoc, Ph.D. for accepting the invitation to visit and share her research experience in the field of social sciences and humanities for lecturers of the Faculty of Journalism, Media and Literature, Faculty of Law, and Faculty of Tourism, Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities.
At the exchange session, after a brief introduction about Aix-Marseille University and the Institute of Asian Studies, Assoc. Prof. Nguyen Phuong Ngoc, Ph.D. shared openly about her experience and her colleagues’. In particular, the focus on exploiting new points, cultural features in tourism activities, using sociological methods in literary research is one of the important research direction stressed by Assoc. Prof. Nguyen Phuong Ngoc, Ph.D.
Besides, Assoc. Prof. Nguyen Phuong Ngoc, Ph.D. also gave specific answers, exchanged actively, and offered a lot of consultancy and sharing with staffs and lecturers of the University based on her own practical experience.
Following the working agenda, Assoc. Prof. Pham Phuong Ngoc Ph.D. had a meeting and worked with the Board of Trustees and the University's key leaders. The meeting took place in an open and friendly atmosphere. At the end of the working session, the two units wished that there would be special research cooperation in the field of Social Sciences and Humanities between the lecturers of Thai Nguyen University of Sciences and Assoc. Prof. Nguyen Phuong Ngoc, Ph.D. in particular and the Institute of Asian Studies in general.
