Workshop on Curriculum Development of Master’s Degree Programs in the Framework of the FOREST Project

The FOREST project is an abbreviation of Future ORiented chEmiSTry, which is an Erasmus+ project to develop a new master’s program in the field of Chemistry in which the Thai Nguyen University of Sciences is a member of the project implementation starting from 2021. The project is part of the European Commission-funded Capacity Building for Higher Education Institutions programme called Erasmus+ CBHE.

On November 21 - 22, 2023, the lectures of Thai Nguyen university of sciences (TNUS) attended a Workshop on Curriculum Development of Master’s Degree Programs in the Framework of the FOREST Project which took place at Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology and Education (HCMUTE).

Over 15 Vietnamese members from Vietnam National University of Forestry (VNUF), TNUS, Hue University of Science (HUSC), and HCMUTE universities were present at the conference. Especially, there is the participation of Prof. Peter Waldner, Prof. Mariaelena Murphy from Montanuniversität Leoben (MUL) and Janerik Lundquist, Erasmus + FOREST project coordinator professor at Linkoping University (LiU).

At the workshop, the participants discussed the need for proper curricula for their new Master of Science (MSc) programs, and received training on topics such as the calculation of European Credit Transfer & Accumulation System (ECTS) for different teaching and learning modes; How to write learning outcomes and put them into practice; The distribution of ECTS credits; How to create learning pathways (pedagogy/didactics) and how to implement them; How to develop the outline of a new MSc programme and representatives of universities also presented the new MSc programme at their university.
