On the morning of December 24th, 2024, at Thai Nguyen University of Sciences, Thai Nguyen University, a signing ceremony for an MOU with Dongseo University, Korea, took place, marking an important milestone in the international education partnership between the two institutions. This event not only opens up long-term cooperation opportunities but also provides students majoring in Korean Studies at the University of Science with the opportunities to receive scholarships and participate in exchange programs in South Korea.
Attending the ceremony, on behalf of Thai Nguyen University of Sciences, were Assoc. Prof. Dr. Pham The Chinh, Vice Rector, along with leaders from the Training Department, the Student Affairs Department, and the Korean Studies Division. On behalf of Dongseo University, Korea, were Dr. Lee Jongmyung, Director, and representatives from Dongseo University's Vietnam Office. Both parties expressed their delight and high expectations for this partnership, particularly in creating development opportunities for Korean Studies students.
In his opening speech, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Pham The Chinh, Vice Rector of Thai Nguyen University of Sciences, emphasized the importance of signing this cooperation agreement with Dongseo University, affirming that it marks a turning point in improving the quality of education at Thai Nguyen University of Sciences, especially for Korean Studies students. He emphasized that this MOU not only facilitates academic exchange opportunities but also helps Korean Studies students access high-quality education, gain hands-on experience in South Korea, and receive support through scholarship programs.
Dr. Lee Jongmyung reaffirmed Dongseo University's commitment to providing favorable conditions for Korean Studies students at Thai Nguyen University of Sciences. He noted that students from both universities will have opportunities to participate in exchange programs, scholarships, and internships in Korea, particularly in the fields of Korean language and culture. These opportunities will enable students to enhance their skills, broaden the horizon, and develop their careers in an international environment. Additionally, Dongseo University will offer special support for students in difficult circumstances, such as waiving dormitory fees and providing airfare subsidies in addition to tuition scholarships.
Under the MOU, Korean Studies students at Thai Nguyen University of Sciences will have opportunities to join exchange courses at Dongseo University, interact with Korean lecturers and experts, and receive scholarships as well as career opportunities at Korean enterprises.
Following the signing ceremony, representatives from Dongseo University introduced scholarship opportunities directly to Korean Studies Course 19 students. These scholarships not only offer opportunities for study and exchange but also serve as a great motivation for Korean Studies students at TNUS. Participating in these scholarship and exchange programs in Korea will provide students with practical experience, enhanced language and cultural proficiency, and professional skills, thereby opening up broader career prospects in the future.
