On September 24, 2019, representatives of Thai Nguyen University of Sciences paid a working visit to Souphanouvong University (Lao PDR).

Visiting and working at Souphanouvong University, delegation of Thai Nguyen University of Sciences included: Assoc. Prof. Pham Thi Phuong Thai, Ph.D. - Vice Rector of Thai Nguyen University of Sciences and Nguyen Thi Phuong Mai Ph.D. – Lecturer of Faculty of Natural Resources and Environment.

Receiving University of Sciences - Thai Nguyen University delegation, representatives of Souphanouvong University included: Mr. Vira Anolac - Vice Rector of Souphanouvong University; Ms. Davone Sisoulath - Head of Personnel Department; Ms. Khampha Amphaithip - Deputy Head of Language Faculty; Mr. Sonephet Thongpadith - Head of Training Department; Ms. Bounthieng Vongsouangtham - Deputy Head of International Cooperation Department; lecturers of Vietnamese at the University's Language Faculty.

During the meeting, the two sides introduced the characteristics as well as outstanding advantages of the training institution as well as opportunities for cooperation and exchange. After the discussion, representatives of the two universities signed a memorandum of cooperating, exchanging training and scientific research between the two universities, especially cooperating in training Vietnamese.

Also on the business trip, Assoc. Prof. Pham Thi Phuong Thai, Ph.D. had a meeting with Subject of Vietnamese, Language Faculty of Souphanouvong University. MSc. Khampha Amphaithip - Deputy Head of Language Faculty expressed his desire to cooperate in training Vietnamese language for Lao students in Laos as well as student exchange program with University of Sciences - Thai Nguyen University of Vietnam.

During the business trip, officials of Thai Nguyen University of Science received warm, thoughtful welcome from Souphanouvong University. The trip opened up opportunities for cooperation in many fields as well as exchanging students for study and scientific research to create a learning environment and creating opportunities to learn about ethnic cultures for students of the two countries.

Souphanouvong University, founded in 2003, is the only university in the northern region of Laos PDR. The university currently trains more than 3500 students in 31 university’s majors and 2 master's majors, of which 27 Vietnamese students are studying at the University.
