LAOS’ TRADITIONAL BUNPIMAY FESTIAL 2022 AT THAI NGUYEN UNIVERITY OF SCIENCES

Thai Nguyen University of Sciences (TNUS) organized Bunpimay Festival 2022 – Traditional Laos New Year festival on April 14, 2022. The Bunpimay festival is observed from April 14-16 annually to pray for good weather, health, abundant harvests, and prosperity. Attending the festival, in terms of TNUS, there were Assoc. Prof. Dr. Pham The Chinh - Vice-Rector of the University, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Trinh Thanh Hai - Head of Education Department, MSc. Ngo Ngoc Linh - Director of Centre of Communication, External relation, and Admission, and other lectures and nearly 100 Laos students attending. Addressing the ceremony, were Assoc. Prof. Dr. Pham The Chinh - Vice-Rector sent congratulations on the occasion of the traditional New Year Bupimay 2022 to Laos students studying at the University. He wished international students a warm and memorable ceremony. He affirmed that the University has been and will always be there to support students in their studies and life. The celebration opened with an art performance program introducing traditional culture, costumes, and the country and people of Lao ethnic groups, and highlighting the friendship between Vietnam and Laos. During the festival, participants practiced traditional rituals of the festival, including thread tying, water-splashing, and peace-praying ceremonies. The New Year celebration program was an opportunity for Lao students not only to celebrate the traditional New Year Festival but also to get motivation in their studies and daily life. Besides, it helped strengthen the friendship, and solidarity between Vietnam and the Lao People's Democratic Republic.
